Red Hen Systems Busy at Trade Shows

The Red Hen Systems booth was prominent at trade shows this spring. Our products and services are so versatile they are used in multiple industries. We were at GasSTAR in San Antonio, GeoInt in Anaheim, and SOCOM in Coronado. If you didn't have a chance to see us there, give us a call to talk about our new products, services, training, and how we can help you with your summer and fall fieldwork.

Helping to Address Air Quality Issues with Pipe-I

Red Hen has been in the business of helping companies identify methane emissions in natural gas pipelines for the past ten years in Australia, the United States and the British Isles. Methane emissions detection is a hot topic now with gas, upstream and midstream companies, regulators; local, state and national governments; not for profits and technology companies weighing in on the discussion. Red Hen is involved in these discussions.

In May, company president Neil Havermale made a trip to Pinedale, Wyoming for a meeting hosted by Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality Air Quality Division. Pinedale, a scenic community in western Wyoming located near the Jonah and Pinedale Anticline gas fields, has been an area of concern for several years because industry activity affected air quality and an ozone problem developed. The DEQ and many stakeholder groups were on hand in May to continue addressing the issue. Neil offered information about the Pipe-I kit as part of the solution.

Vehicle Mount

Pipe-I is a customizable solution that detects fugitive methane gas, calculates its concentration, and embeds that information (along with the precise GPS location) in a high-definition video of the corridor patrol. The resulting video provides a quick, detailed analysis of the corridor that can be viewed anytime, anywhere, on Google Earth. The benefit? Pipe-I enables fast and efficient patrols that accommodate a quick response to problematic areas.

Red Hen Says 'Yes' to Methane Challenge

Red Hen is responding to The Environmental Defense Fund's (EDF) Methane Detector's Challenge. EDF is initiating a new effort to catalyze development and commercialization of low cost, methane detection technologies to help minimize methane emissions in the oil and gas industry. Red Hen has developed and improved its Pipe-I solution over the past decade. In response to this challenge we are engineering a static sensor to go along with our aerial and automobile patrol technologies. Bob Juif, Sales Director is excited about the prospect. "It will add a missing component to Red Hen's current offerings. I see it as expanding our capabilities so we can offer an affordable, full spectrum testing solution, detecting hydrocarbons early and before they become a hazard."

Pipe-I is Being Reviewed by Colorado Air Quality

Additionally, Colorado recently adopted rules around methane emissions in the oil and gas industry. The State's Air Quality Division is currently evaluating Pipe-I, our methane emissions detection system, to include as an authorized solution. We are confident that they will agree with us, and our current clients, that Red Hen offers one of the best solutions on the market today
MediaMapper Mobile

We are about to release a highly enhanced version of this product. It is the only android app that allows users to capture and geotag still images, video, and audio notes, displaying their exact locations on a track log. The media is easily shared with others via email or uploading to a server. This is a low cost, simple and effective solution for capturing geospatial information in the field. Watch your inbox for information about where you can purchase it in the coming weeks.
