AISD launches new bond website
The AISD has launched a revamped bond webpage. Some of the site is still under construction, but it includes information about all bond-related projects, along with regular updates and news. Check the site regularly to read about progress the district is making and how the bond is impacting students.
MONTHLY PROGESS REPORT
The AISD facility planning and construction department is currently in the process of implementing project management software called e-Builder. The new system will help the district manage all construction projects more effectively and efficiently and help promote visibility for the community. Once e-Builder is up and running, the district will issue concise monthly progress reports on bond-related capital projects. The reports will be posted at aisd.net/bond/reports, and a link will be included in these monthly newsletters.

Students accepted for new fine arts/dual language academies
Fine Arts Update

Students have been accepted for the inaugural kindergarten classes of AISD's two new fine arts/dual language academies, scheduled to open in August 2015. With a limited number of spaces remaining, applications have been reopened and are due April 24.

The two new academies, Jimmy and Laura Jones Academy of Fine Arts and Dual Language and Dean P. Corey Academy of Fine Arts and Dual Language, will provide students an innovative program that develops fluency in both English and Spanish and will offer exposure to Mandarin.

New security cameras arrive
Safety, Security and Technology Update

New security cameras - part of the 2014 Bond package - arrived March 25. The cameras, worth $479,000, will be installed in 24 schools, part of Phase 1 of the bond. Eventually all schools will receive new cameras.

The new cameras will allow the AISD security department to increase video surveillance from 35 to 80 percent of all buildings and will be especially important for improving coverage of libraries, gyms and cafeterias.
