Walk into the Amos Elementary library these days and the first thing to catch your eye is the massively colorful mural spanning half the room. | The mural highlights the sections of the library below; this section depicts transportation, health and technology.

STOP Bullying         

Speer ES bullying prevention

Chances are a number of students at Speer Elementary weren't all that familiar with a giant raccoon dressed in a sports jersey and basketball shorts, but the mascot of CMI Universal was quite the hit there recently. During a pair of assemblies in the school cafeteria, Rascal the Raccoon pumped up the students with the sort of jubilation and glee reserved for pep rallies.  | Rascal the Raccoon pumps up the crowd at Speer.

Jobs 101 at Lamar         

Lamar HS job workshop

Keith Moore has hired enough young people for Six Flags and Hurricane Harbor theme parks to pen a series of books on how not to get a job, but Lamar High School students were able to hear his expertise firsthand, and for free. Moore is human resources supervisor for Six Flags and is considered the hiring gatekeeper. He's the one you have to impress to be hired there. | Keith Moore of Six Flags gave interview pointers to Lamar students.
