Amos Reporters at UTA
When the staff of the student-written and produced publication Soaring Eagle Express at Amos Elementary made a trip to the offices of the Shorthorn at the University of Texas at Arlington, they were surprised to learn how the college publication is pieced together much like their newspaper. They have brainstorming sessions to flush out stories, set up photos well ahead of time and always stress the importance of getting things spelled correctly. | Amos Elementary publication students went on a tour of the UTA Shorthorn facilities.

This particular bunch of Lamar High School students knows a thing or two about mentoring. They are, after all, Project SOAR students, the group that mentors underclassmen. So it's not much of a stretch to have them pair up with someone outside the AISD, even though the partner is not necessarily a student.
