Veterans Day in the AISD

Veterans Day received a flurry of commemorations across AISD campuses, from elementary to high schools, with current and retired military service personnel delivering speeches, attending luncheons and being serenaded by school choirs. | The Seguin High School orchestra performed during the school's Veterans Day program.

That President Barack Obama managed to hang on to his current job in the White House came as little surprise to the voters at Sam Houston High School. Saying No to Steroids

The story of Taylor Hooton is never a pleasant one, but his father, Don Hooton, tells it anyway. Less than a year after taking steroids to gain size and strength as a baseball player, Taylor was dead, at age 17. Hooton keeps his son's story alive to help others, as he did recently during a talk to Ousley Junior High students. | Brad Horn of the National Baseball Hall of Fame, Don Hooton and Rangers Pitcher Derek Holland spoke to students at Ousley Junior High.
