Nearly 20% of Same-sex Couple Households Include Children

The latest release of the American Community Survey estimates approximately 225,000 minor children lived in same-sex couple households in the U.S. in 2013. The majority of these children (72%) are living with a female same-sex couple compared to 28% living with a male couple.
