PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
This year at the Guild has been a whirl of activity for all our  members, including me. Starting in January 2013, Resolution, and continuing up to this month's Festive Home, RGA members have stepped up with ready hands and excitement. This is a truly wonderful organization, and I am grateful to all of you. The Guild is a collection of artists and art-lovers that promotes creativity and encourages people to enjoy art on every level. Thank you to everyone who put in time, attended to the details, created graphics, painted, wrote, took pictures, tweeted, eblasted, helped youngsters, hung art, served wine, made sales and helped with all the activities that make us a Guild!

Thanks to everyone on the Festive Home Committee this year, and to Joan Isaac, our amazing front-woman, since without you, we wouldn't have the dazzling display now installed in the barn. If you aren't on the list below, please let me know. You all did a spectacular job!

This year's painting donation was centered on the Festive Birds of Connecticut, a theme brought to life by Antonio Muņoz and Cindi Mullins. Members picked up a small canvas to complete any way they wanted, as long as it was about (festive) birds. We received an amazing assortment of interpretations of "festive birds," all of which are available for sale during Festive Home. A $50 purchase of one of these works of art goes directly to our bottom line. Thank you to everyone who participated, and thanks to all who bought one or two!

Volunteers for Board & Non-Board Positions
Our first exhibition of the year is Animal Spirit, a members-only, themed show which asks artists to reflect on the "animal spirit" in any creative way. Art and written statements will be displayed, which help to draw the visitor to your work.

The full prospectus and description of the show will be on the web site sin early December

Co-chairs are needed immediately for Animal Spirit. Animal Spirit opens on Saturday, January 25 and closes on Saturday, March 2. Please contact Joan Isaac if you can help run this fun show. It is members-only show that is not juried. If you haven't been a co-chair yet, this is a great introduction to the workings of putting together an exhibition and you get to meet the nicest artists! Co-chairs work with other volunteers to receive art, assist at the reception, coordinate wall tags and artists' statements, and help with distribute the unsold art when the show is over. Lots of fun and good times!

Board and Non-Board Positions The Guild needs you! Please consider contacting one of the Guild Board members to discuss how you can make a difference at the Guild. Volunteers run the Guild, and members make the best volunteers. In the coming year, the Guild plans many new exhibitions that desperately need co-chairs and volunteers to make them happen. The Guild also needs help with fundraising, grant-writing, hospitality and more. Please step up and make your mark at the Guild!
