NOTE FROM THE DOC:
Our goal in the office is simple....to give the best general medical care to the people under our care. And to do that, requires a straightforward approach described 2000 years ago by Aristotle: "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit" We are in the habit of doing things properly....and in so doing, we achieve excellence every day. Currently, there is more than enough money in the healthcare system to provide a superior level of care in general, but the moneys are maldistributed, and that is unlikely to change anytime soon. Vested interests that lobby Washington for the insurance companies, pharmaceuticals, and hospital systems maintain their vise-grip hold on what they have and are not going to settle for less. In a recent New England Journal of Medicine editorial, three experts on the current medical system make the point that our new approach..... "Grows out of the knowledge that we cannot solve our cost and quality challenges simply by asking the good, hardworking people in health care to work even harder or become even better. Health care organizations have to create social capital - that is, improve the ways in which they work together and thus enable organizations to accomplish goals that would otherwise be out of reach. State-of-the-science medicine must be a team activity, and the teams must work together well and efficiently. We believe that social capital is likely to be even more important than financial capital in the era ahead. After all, one can go to the bank to borrow money, but there is nowhere one can go to borrow trust, teamwork, reliability, and the desire to innovate and improve." These experts stated what our office has learned over 40 years. - Trust
- Teamwork
- Reliability
- Striving to Improve
These are what people are seeking in their healthcare providers....these are what provide the basis for confidence, these are what we do every day for you. The approach that we take every day is becoming increasingly difficult in a time of historic transition in health care delivery in the US, yet we are committed to it, and to you. We will not fail at it. We wish you a very Happy, Healthy & Prosperous 2016!
