Open Letter to All My Patients:

If you've been in the office in the past month, you know that it's a busy time of year ....but we don't miss an opportunity to have fun and enjoy our jobs. Whether it has been our staff Medical Jeopardy Tournament or our ELVIS DAY in November, the staff and I know that it takes a great attitude and a little humor to get through the day and be our best.
This past week, many patients have heard my version of the famous Woody Allen story. I explain that a patient's son brought his mother into the office concerned that she had accidentally taken some of his medical marijuana; her resulting confusion would not go away. He explained "Doc....she thinks she's a chicken and says she's a chicken." So I explained to him..." Then you'll have to take her to the psychiatrist to get her to stop this behavior."
The son then responded....."Doctor Lakin...I'm sorry, but we can't do that."
" Why not I ask"......
"Well....to tell the truth........we need the eggs."
As we begin 2015, we will continue to combine our commitment to excellence in your care with our own brand of personal attention and along the way, a little irreverence to keep us humble and you in good spirits. As Roald Dahl observed wisely: "A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men." ....words to live by in 2015.
My staff and I wish you the very best for this New Year!
Good health & happiness always,
 - Dr. Douglas Lakin
