CHINA STILL HAS THAT COOLNESS FACTOR

Venture firms continue to show confidence in China as several new funds get going with more deals. Check out the action at IDG Capital, DCM Ventures, Lightspeed China and Sky9 Capital raise new funds.
Jim Breyer joining with the IDG Capital's China team to debut a new fund of $1 billion, one of the larger venture funds for China and double the size of the predecessor, surely signals an endorsement of China's tech future. 
It's a good time to invest as valuations have fallen in China.

Japanese messaging app leader LINE scores biggest tech IPO of 2016 with valuation of $6.6 billion after $1 billion IPO. But LINE faces hurdles ahead as recent growth has slowed.  

Sequoia Capital China led a $70 million, Series C investment in Yungtongxun, a cloud communication service in Beijing for corporations.

Shanghai-based video lifestyle series producer Yitiao, which has recently pivoted to include e-commerce, has raised a $15 million Series B investment from private equity firm China Media Capital,

Institutional investment firm Farallon Capital Management, geared for private market transactions in Singapore, Tokyo and Sao Paulo, raised $1.12 billion for two funds.
