 Venture capital fund raising and investments in both the U.S. and Asia are on the mark to exceed a boom not seen since before the financial crisis hit. This certainly bodes well for startups that are looking to innovate disruptive technologies and to go global.

Derek Sulger, a managing partner at Lunar Capital, was right on in his predictions the impact of the collapsing stock market in China would not be 1929. Having worked in China for 16 years, the private equity investor added that he's seen the Chinese stock market go through three or four similar roller-coaster cycles over the past 16 yeas as retail investors get "cold feet" during dips in the market.

Venture capitalists are predicting a correction is coming soon to the booming valuations for investments in emerging companies. Speaking at Silicon Dragon's conference in NY, VC Jim Robinson of RRE Ventures says the market is entering a cycle of "natural cleansing" of 20% in "overdone" deal pricing before the next two years is up.
