Summer Camp helps grow confidence
This summer we were able to place 86 of our clients' children into summer camps so they could experience this enriching life experience.
A father of one of the campers who went to Project Adventure recently stopped in to say thank you for sending two of his children back to Project Adventure again this summer. He said last year his son was afraid and didn't do some of the higher ropes courses. But this year was different. The other campers and staff were so encouraging he finally felt comfortable and was able to do all of the courses. The father said he was so happy his son was able to return to Project Adventure again this year and was so thankful for the wonderful experience that he had.

The Thrift Shop is open during construction
Construction on Rantoul Street has begun and is expected to continue through the end of September. But the Thrift Shop will remain open for shopping and donations throughout. Please use the 35 Park Street entrance (on the opposite side of the building), then take the stairs or elevator up one floor. On-street parking will be limited but the MBTA parking garage is only two blocks down Rantoul
Street.
Changing over to your fall and winter clothes?
They say when going thru your wardrobe, if you haven't worn something in a year, get rid of it. And our Thrift Shop is happy to take your unused items off your hands. But please consider their condition before donating.
The Thrift Shop can only accept gently new or used, and in-season clothes, accessories, footwear, linens, jewelry, housewares, decor, and furniture. All must be stain, rip and smoke free.
However, if you have textile items (clothing, accessories, footwear, linens, stuffed animals) that don't fit that description, they can be recycled at the bins at every Beverly Public School. The money raised from this recycling goes directly to the schools to support local children's education. It also saves the city money in disposing of these items in the trash, as well as being good for the environment.
By separating your items and dropping them at the appropriate place, you can support both of these wonderful organizations. For a complete list of acceptable items for recycling, click here and for more information about donating to the Thrift Shop, click here.
