Back-to-School Bonanza
We are in full gear getting ready for the Back-to-School Bonanza program. For each of the past several years, we have given out about 700 brand new backpacks fully stocked with the school supplies children need to succeed at school.
The surveys backpack recipients filled out last year, gave us a glimpse at how this program helps out. By far, the most clients used the money saved to pay for their utilities, food and rent. Its particularly helpful for families with several children who save many hundred dollars each year by participating.
Here are just a few of the comments they shared: "I very much appreciate the help you provide my family. Thank you!" "Thank you to all donors & volunteers!" "This is a huge help due to my current situation" "Bootstraps is Awesome. And I'm grateful you're here for us!"
Donations of backpacks and supplies are still being accepted until July 25th. This program is a great way for companies, as well as individuals and families to give back. Exciting news:
Summer Food Program provides even more food options
In an effort to keep children healthy over the summer, Beverly Bootstraps, in collaboration with the Beverly Recreation Department and the Beverly Public Schools Food Services, is again offering the Summer Food Program. This program offers free food options to school age children who face challenges without access to the free and reduced school breakfasts and lunches.
In response to the ever changing community needs, we're offering more food this summer. There are now three options available: Breakfast at several Beverly Recreation Park Programs, breakfast and lunch at Beverly High School, and weekly visits to Beverly Bootstraps' Food Pantry. In essence we are providing options for breakfast, lunch and dinner all summer long.

North Shore Striper Blitz donates their catch
Thank you to all the fishermen and women that participated in the North Shore Striper Blitz fishing tournament and all the fish they donated to our Food Pantry.

Paul Russell and Co. donates backpacks
Recently, a shipment of 5 boxes full of some beautiful, brand new North Face and Burton backpacks arrived at our building! Thank you to Paul Russell and Co. for this generous donation to support our Back-to-School Bonanza program.

Happenings
Beverly Bootstraps Building Tours
All summer until August 18 : Wednesdays 4:30-5:30pm, Thursdays 9:00-10:30am
Beverly Bootstraps will be offering tours of our new building at 35 Park Street. Come by for a guided walk through the facility to see how the organization has improved its services to the community at the new location.
Thrift Shop Yard Sale Wednesday, August 3, from 12-3pm Beverly Homecoming Lobsterfest at Lynch Park
Come see a sample of what the Thrift Shop has to offer at our Yard Sale table during Lobsterfest starting at noon. Bargains for a Cause.
Resolve I.T. BBQ & Brew
Thursday, August 25, from 4-6pm
Sheehy Park, next to 950 Cummings Center
Resolve I.T. will be holding their 3rd annual BBQ & BREW B2B Networking Event & fundraiser with free admission, food & beer (contingent on submission of your business card &/or a voluntary donation that will be given to Beverly Bootstraps). There will be music, games, prize wheel, 50/50 raffle & other fun activities.
Market Basket Food Drive
Saturday, September 17, from 9am-12pm
139 Endicott Street, Danvers
Stop by Market Basket and pick up a shopping list on your way in for you regular shopping trip, grab an item or a few, and drop them off on your way back out!
