Adopt-A-Family Brightens the Holiday Season
| | |
Did you know last year we distributed gifts to 657 children in our Adopt-A-Family program?
During the holiday season there are many families in Beverly and Manchester-by-the-Sea that are not sure how they will afford gifts for their children. Beverly Bootstraps tries to ease that stress through our Adopt-A-Family program, which helps provide children from low-income families with holiday gifts. The program matches families in need with generous donors who share the true spirit of the holidays with their "adopted family." "We decided as a family that we really have all we 'need' and that the holidays mean so much more than gifts. It's family, friends, a good home with food on the table. Most take that for granted," said a donor whose family decided to forgo gifts this year to give to Beverly Bootstraps instead. This year hundreds of children in Beverly and Manchester will receive their presents from Beverly Bootstraps during the holidays. As said by one of our clients, "Thank you so much for your gifts. I don't believe this note could capture the amount of gratitude I have in my heart." These gifts truly help to make the season a little brighter for our clients.

Thanks at Thanksgiving
We are very grateful to our donors and volunteers for such a successful Thanksgiving season. We were able to distribute 502 Thanksgiving meals to clients in need this year. We could not have served so many people in our community if it were not for our generous donors, including The Herrick House, Wayne Alarm, Beverly/Addison Gilbert Hospital, Coastal Windows & Exteriors, Shore Country Day School, Barton Associates, Sensitech, Stop & Shop, Shaw's, CSL, CPI, Endicott, St. Peter's Church, and many more. We also had some wonderful volunteers from Beverly Bank and CSL who helped us pack our Thanksgiving bags, as well as many individual volunteers who came to help.

Salem Five Bank Gives Back
 | | Beverly Bootstraps Executive Director, Sue Gabriel, accepting $1,000 from Joe Gibbons of Salem Five Bank. |
Salem Five Bank staff nominated 25 non-profits to receive proceeds from their annual golf outing, and Beverly Bootstraps was one of them. All recipients were invited to and honored at their annual breakfast. We are very thankful that the Salem Five Bank staff designated Beverly Bootstraps as one of their 25 charities to support!
A Merry and Bright Holiday Parade
Beverly Bootstraps is very thankful for all those who came to the Beverly Holiday Parade and supported us by donating non-perishable food. We received over 1,310 pounds of food from the parade. The Middle School Fellowship of the First Baptist Church in Beverly did a great job of collecting all of the food during the parade! We are also thankful for the 8th grade class of Shore Country Day School, Beverly Bank, and North Shore United Way who helped us sort the food.
Car Show Benefits Beverly Bootstraps
Beverly Bootstraps was the recipient of the proceeds from Bob Newhall's weekly car shows held at the American Barbeque in the Cummings Center. The $1,300 donation will go directly to our various programs to benefit those in need. We are very thankful for Bob Newhall and the car show for thinking of Beverly Bootstraps!
