To Our Friends & Neighbors
Happy National Volunteer Week!

Did you know that Beverly Bootstraps volunteers annually contribute over 18,000 hours of work valued at over $493,000?

Our volunteers offer their time and talents to Beverly Bootstraps in more ways than you might realize. We are recognizing these special individuals especially from April 6th to April 12th for National Volunteer Week, where the whole country is celebrating those who give their time and resources to help others.

Some of the services our volunteers provide at Beverly Bootstraps are folding clothes, organizing merchandise, and pricing in our Thrift Shop. Food Pantry volunteers pick up food, pack and distribute food, do home deliveries, and help keep the pantry organized.

Many volunteers tutor with the after school homework club, HiSET classes, and ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classes. Some volunteers help us in our main office with the front desk, greeting visitors and answering the phones. Special project volunteers help with Adopt-a-Family, Back to School Bonanza, Best Chef, and food drives.

Exciting News!
Adult Education Students Move On
to College Courses

Six of our recent GED graduates are now enrolled at North Shore Community College. They all received their diplomas after completing our GED program and are now enrolled in a 12 week, 9 credit course called Project Enable.

With them finishing their GED  they are now beginning the journey towards a college degree and a better job.

Congrats to them on continuing their education!

Thank You
The Women's Fund of Essex County

The Women's Fund of Essex County awarded Beverly Bootstraps a $4,500 grant to support our Cooking Matters Program. The Cooking Matters program teaches families how to make healthy meals everyday on a budget. Participants learn to shop strategically, use nutrition information to make healthier food choices, and cook delicious, affordable meals.

Boy Scouts Troop 4 Food Drive

The Boy Scouts Troop 4 of North Beverly donated over 141 pounds of food to our Food Pantry at the end of March. We are extremely thankful for the effort of the young men in the troop who put a great amount of effort into getting all those donations.

North Shore Christian School Students
Learn to Give Back

Beverly Bootstraps recently received a large donation from the North Shore Christian School on Conant Street.

The children worked very hard to gather over 263 pounds of food. The students who brought the food to the pantry learned more by taking a tour and spending time with staff to ask questions. They learned about how a Food Pantry works and who can visit Beverly Bootstraps for help. Thank you North Shore Christian School!
