Good Morning,
I hope this email finds you well. My name is Kristina Rio, and I am excited to introduce our weekly email that I send directly to all enrolled families. Some of you will get to know me this session as your Sprouting Melodies Provider in class on Wednesdays. This email is a great opportunity for you to learn more about what we are doing in class and why what we are doing is important for your little one's growth and development. Each week you can expect some great tips, information, and education on early childhood development and music. Whether you see Kathy McCann on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Katie Bagley on Fridays and Saturdays, Mary Kerrigan on Fridays, or Kristina Rio on Wednesdays, the information in these emails will apply to what you are doing in your weekly Sprouting Melodies class and your child's development.

I am looking forward to getting to know all of you and your little ones over the next several weeks. I would first like to share with you a little bit about who we are as Sprouting Melodies Providers, and how what we offer is different from other music classes. All of the Sprouting Melodies Providers here at Roman Music Therapy
Services are Board Certified Music Therapists (MT-BC). This means that we are trained to use music as a tool to foster growth in areas of need such as social skills, cognition, communication skills, emotional needs, physical needs, psychological needs, and overall wellness. We are healthcare professionals who travel to homes, facilities, schools, etc. in the Greater Boston community providing music therapy services to clients from birth to end of life with various diagnoses.
Sprouting Melodies originated six years ago here in Melrose and has since expanded to ten other states. You can see more information on where Sprouting Melodies classes are offered at this page. Only Board Certified Music Therapists can be trained to become Sprouting Melodies Providers, and although Sprouting Melodies is not clinically-based, we possess the skills to provide a development-based community music program for children 0-5 years of age. We are trained in early childhood development through both our music therapy education and a ten week Sprouting Melodies training course developed by Meredith Pizzi, creator of Sprouting Melodies and founder of Roman Music Therapy Services. You can read more about her bio here.
We are trained in how to use appropriate music for specific-age and multi-age groups which provides us with a flexible framework for each music therapist to then bring their own unique style. As Sprouting Melodies Providers, we are able to offer a dynamic program which can be adapted to fit the needs of each individual group. Read more about our team at RomanMusicTherapy.com, and be sure to add this email address to your contacts list so the emails reach your inbox!
Our providers are here to support you as you navigate the journey of early childhood development. If you have any questions at any time, please ask us! You can reach out to your Sprouting Melodies Provider, or email me back here. See you in class!
