Celebrating Siblings                                                April 12, 2016

Good morning, 

This past Sunday, April 10th was National Siblings Day! It is a day to honor and celebrate sibling relationships. For those of you who have more than one child, or are expecting, it is never too early to start the bonding process for siblings.

We have just added a siblings only Sprouting Melodies class called Sprouting Sibs on Wednesdays at 11:00 to support bonding and play between siblings. As Sprouting Melodies providers, we provide tips and information on the different developmental levels your children are at, how they are going to best respond to the music in class, how you can support each of them separately, and how you can support them in bonding/playing with each other. This class is open for registration for the Spring II session starting May 18th. Please see below for more information or to register. 

Not only is it important for siblings to build relationships with each other, it is also important for all children to build relationships with their peers. In Sprouting Melodies, we offer social opportunities to support your child as they develop skills like turn-taking, sharing, and playing together. These interactions with peers can be challenging at times and require a lot of modeling and practice! That's where you come in. In Sprouting Melodies, we encourage you to invest in this bonding time with your little one to show them how to interact with others and help them learn self-control. Relationship development is something that even a newborn infant is doing each and every day from hearing your voice, to looking at your face as you feed them or change their diaper. As you are growing, we are growing too! We are now offering 
Sprouting Melodies 5 for children 4-6 years old to support their growth as they navigate the developmental stages of control and responsibility. This is a drop-off class and will be facilitated by Laura Micheli.
