Hello Everybody February 16, 2016
| |
Good morning,
I am excited to welcome all of you to Sprouting Melodies Winter Session II, and what better way to do that than to sing hello! Below is a recording of that familiar melody that welcomes you into the music space each week. For those of you who are new to Sprouting Melodies, this will be a novel song for you. Many of our returning families have told us that this song is their child's favorite song from class. Because of this, Laura, one of our Sprouting Melodies Providers, calls the hello song "your baby's jam!"
Do you have a song that's "your jam?" Think about how that song makes you feel when you hear it. Do you enjoy listening to it over and over? This hello song is one that is repeated week after week, and allows the children to feel a sense of security and predictability. I have heard from several families that this is the first song their child starts singing, and will perform it at home as if they are leading the class. This song offers a successful way to introduce turn taking and social behavior. It is simple and repetitive so that you as the adult can sing along and learn it to use later as a tool at home!
Have fun singing, and I'll see you in class!
 ~Kristina
