Meet Your Neighbor November 3, 2015
| |
Good morning,
Last week we made name tags for all of the adults and children in the class for the start of our Fall Session II. Several parents wondered why we were making name tags all of a sudden! At the start of each session, I like to have everyone wear name tags because it is hard to be the new person in class who does not know anyone else (for the adults and for the children).
Several families have gotten to know each other over the last few sessions, and some great friendships have blossomed! It is so great to see the connections families have made through Sprouting Melodies. Let's continue to build that sense of community through the music as we sing and play together. Making music together increases the bond you share with your little ones, as well as with other people around you. Even though it is tempting to chat with your new or old friends during class, try and save those conversations for coffee or a bite to eat after, and join in the music making! Your little ones look to you as a model for what to be doing in class. Who knows, maybe you or your little one will make a new friend or connection this week. Below is a new song written by Elizabeth Schwartz that will help jump start those social interactions!
Enjoy, and I'll see you in class.

| "Who's That Sitting Next To You?" |
"Who's that sitting next to you?
Who's that? I wonder what he'll do?
If you clap your hands will he clap too?
Who's that sitting next to you?
Who's that sitting next to you?
Who's that? I wonder what she'll do?
If you stamp your feet will she stamp too?
Who's that sitting next to you?
Who's that sitting next to you?
Who's that? I wonder what they'll do?
If you play the drum will they play too?
Who's that sitting next to you?"
