It is officially fall and finally feels like it! The leaves are changing and fluttering to the ground. As the season turns, the world changes around us. Below is a song to sing with your children about the changing season as they learn what to expect in the fall!
This song was written by Elizabeth Schwartz, co-founder of Sprouting Melodies. She composed the music to match the message it carries. The change from major to minor mimics the changes that happen in the fall. The melody travels down from high to low to mirror the falling of the leaves as they travel from the trees to the ground. You can use scarves to add some pretend play and make a pile of leaves to jump in! Have fun playing and learning with your little ones.
"The weather's getting colder and the leaves are falling down.
They turn from green to red and yellow, orange and brown.
The leaves go down. The leaves go down.
The weather's getting colder and the temperature is down.
I've got to put my jacket on when playing around.
The leaves go down. The leaves go down."
