Rain Is Falling Down June 2, 2015

Good Morning,
I hope everyone is staying dry! It is hard having to stay inside after such a beautiful week last week. While you are indoors, keep your children entertained, engaged, and excited with a little bit of music. Kids can get restless having to stay inside, as some of you may have experienced this past winter. Take some time to help your children learn about their world through music, and make a fun activity out of having to stay inside. There are many great instruments you can make with your kids using items you may have in your home. Check out this website which teaches you how to make an ocean drum at home. This instrument goes great with the song I have shared below with you called, "Rain Is Falling Down" by Elizabeth Schwartz. You may notice the descending melody, which reflects the imagery of rain falling down. For older children, practicing problem solving is always great. Help your children come up with fun ideas for what you can do inside to have fun even though it is disappointing that they can not go out to play. I'll see you in class! ~Kristina Kristina Barbo, MT-BC Board Certified Music Therapist Roman Music Therapy Services, LLC 423 Main St., Melrose, MA 02176 781-665-0700 Office kristina@romanmusictherapy.com www.romanmusictherapy.com

Rain Is Falling Down
Falling to the ground.
Rain is falling down to the ground.
Rain is falling down.
Falling to the ground.
Rain is falling down to the ground.
And the sky is dark and gray.
And I can't go out to play.
Rain is falling down.
Falling to the ground.
Rain is falling down to the ground."
