Bonding March 3, 2015

Good Morning,
What a wonderful two weeks we have shared making music together! I love hearing about and seeing the moments of bonding between you and your little ones.
These are moments that may seem fleeting in our busy lives, but that makes them all the more important. One comment a new parent made in my Sprouting Melodies 2 class last week inspired this topic for my email this week when she said, "this is a workout for the grown-ups too!" Sprouting Melodies is an experience, not just a music class, that is what makes us unique. It is a time for caregivers and their child to bond through music and learn together. I always say, "the more fun you have, the more fun your child will have." If your child is more independent, and is exploring the room, or interacting with other peers, keep participating. You are only encouraging your child by modeling for them. If your child is in your lap for most of the session, treasure those close moments and celebrate their work!
In order to get the most out of the class, I ask everyone to sing and participate with their children. This is because your children learn best from you. They trust you and thrive with your support. If you sing in class, you can then bring the songs home. When you sing at home where your children are most comfortable, you instill confidence and trust in your children that will reflect in class as they grow and learn to trust the music space.
Thank you for taking time out of your busy days to spend quality bonding time with your little ones.
I'll see you in class!
