Good Morning,
I hope everyone had a fun snow day yesterday! My class was canceled last week because of the first snow storm, so I hope all of you are doing well, and I missed sharing our Wednesday together. I received a wonderful note from Laura, who leads the Friday and Saturday classes about what a big difference she and several caregivers are seeing in the children of the new families who have joined us. The shyness due to unfamiliar experiences is fading, and is being replaced with trust and excitement.
Not only the new families experience these moments though! There are new changes I have seen in some of the children who have been taking classes for several sessions now who are learning to be the leaders of the group. I have heard more singing from those children who have had many sessions to become familiar with the songs and people in the group. Whether they are vocalizing to the music, singing the words, or controlling the song by calling out a suggestion (prompted or unprompted), they are exploring more and more of their musical selves on different developmental levels.
Take some time to celebrate your children this week for their musical and developmental accomplishments! See you in class!
