Fall Is In The Air                                                                   October 6, 2014

Good Morning,

Fall is in the air and with the season turning we are seeing a lot of change. The leaves are turning beautiful colors, there is a subtle chill in the air, and your child is growing and developing new skills each and every day. Life is busy, and we do not always take the time to look around and take in all the changes around us.

I encourage you to take some time out of your day and devote it to making music at home with your little one. Music is a great structure to bring about change and excitement! What better way to enjoy those leaves falling from the trees than with a song. Below I have provided two links to videos of the song "The Leaves are Falling," written by Elizabeth Schwartz, MT-BC, music therapist and co-founder of both Raising Harmony and Sprouting Melodies. The first link is to her blog post and video of this song, and the second link is my alternative version of the song with an added layer of fun!

Please feel free to ask me questions through email or in class, whether it be something you've always wondered about our classes or about your child's behavior in class, and I will be sure to address them in future emails. Have fun making music with your little ones this week, and I'll see you in class!

~Kristina

A New Song: version 1
The Leaves are Falling Down
"The Leaves are Falling"
"The leaves are falling from the trees; they're twirling round and round.

The leaves are falling from the trees; they're falling to the ground.

Down, down, down, down, down, down, down."

A New Song: version 2
Kristina's Variation

"The leaves are falling from the trees; they're twirling round and round.
The Leaves Are Falling
"The Leaves Are Falling"

The leaves are falling from the trees; they're falling to the ground.

Down, down, down, down, down, down, down.

I'll reach down low to scoop them up and make a great big pile.

And then I'll slowly count to three. 1, 2, 3!" (repeat)
