Salif Mangane
International Relations Master's Degree Program
|
Meet three of our McCormack Scholars
A Fulbright scholar from Mauritania, Salif Mangane graduated second in his class at the University of Nouakchott. With a scholarship from the government, he went on to Ibn Tofail University in Morocco to complete a master's degree in English language and culture.
While a graduate student, he became especially interested in the sphere of international relations. Courses on theories of culture, nations and identity, cultural mediation, and peacebuilding heightened his interest in learning how to shape future economic and cultural development and how to use cross-border approaches to the relationship between people of different backgrounds.
At the McCormack Graduate School, he wishes to specialize in international security and use theories and concepts in international relations to better understand and explain the dynamics of world politics. He plans to seek a career in diplomacy and peacekeeping, most likely in West Africa.
