The John W. McCormack Graduate School of Policy and Global Studies at UMass Boston
"New People, New Projects, New Possibilities"
Message from Dean Ira A. Jackson
September 2014
Dean Ira A. Jackson and new Assistant Dean of Academics Justin Maher at recent McCormack Graduate School fall 2014 welcome back town hall meeting on September 3rd.

The languid last days of summer have officially given way to the

energy and diversity and enthusiasm of a new academic year here on Columbia Point.

As we welcome a new year, we build on foundational strengths from years before. We also, to paraphrase Rilke, welcome things that have never been.

We greet more than 125 new and more than 275 returning students-capable, hard-working, ambitious, curious, ethical, and committed to making the world a better place.
