No, I'm not referring to Academy Award nominations for best movies and performances. It's admissions season at McCormack Graduate School and envelopes of admissions applications are coming in and acceptance letters are starting to go out.

 

From what I've been able to discern, our students look stronger and stronger. In one department alone, we have 11 Fulbright applicants.

A Look into the Future of Government and Governance 2.0,
April 5 Technology Conference at UMass Boston

Technology has changed how citizens interact with their government. And that's why McCormack Graduate School of Policy and Global Studies and its Department of Public Policy and Public Affairs is co-sponsoring an April 5 conference, "Technological Innovation in Government: Toward an Open and Smart Government" to explore emerging technologies such as Web 2.0 and social networking services and emerging practices such as Gov 2.0, civic hacking, big data, and online civic engagement.

Bridging Global Religious Divides: UMass Boston Honors Alum at
100th Birthday with Two-Day Symposium
To honor the remarkable century of life and career of McCormack Graduate School alumnus and supporter Benjamin Slomoff '97, the McCormack Graduate School of Policy and Global Studies and its Department of Conflict Resolution, Human Security and Global Governance are planning a major research and policy symposium on Bridging Global Religious Divides on April 7-8 at UMass Boston's campus center.
