Archaeology Films at the Sedona Public Library
The Verde Valley Archaeology Center is presenting a free summer of archaeology films at the Sedona Library every other Friday evening starting June 14 at 7:00 pm. Each film is about one hour and will be preceded by a 7-minute Center-produced introductory film on the prehistory of the Sedona/Verde Valley area. The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to present the Northern Arizona premieres of "No" (Academy Award-nominee for Best Foreign Language Film) and "Girl Rising" (an award-winning, inspiring and empowering new documentary) showing April 30 - May 3 at the Mary D. May 1: OLLI Lunch and Learn
OLLI'S Wednesday, May 1 Lunch and Learn Speaker Dev Ross, Emmy award winning writer of "The Rocks". She will speak about Sedona's first TV show, a supernatural soap opera (or "dramedy") airing on Channel 16, Red Rock TV. Lunch and Learn is a "town square" for residents to chat and interact with speakers who do interesting and important things in town. May 3: Turquoise Tortoise Gallery Welcomes Tony Abeyta

May 4: Free Skin Cancer Screenings in Sedona
Cancer Centers of Northern Arizona Healthcare and Northern Arizona Dermatology Center have partnered together to offer free skin cancer screenings on Saturday, May 4. Arizona has a high skin cancer rate; screening is an important way to lower risk of the disease. The screenings are intended for those who otherwise would be unable to afford this type of exam.
