ImagiVenture Accepting Art Submissions for GUNS/Children Exhibition

Take a stand, and be a part of the national dialogue!  ImagiVenture Foundation is now accepting applications for artwork from visual and performance artists for its GUNS/Children Exhibition, a collaborative art exhibition that explores the implications, dynamics, and social impact of guns and children. Now - 21: SAGA 2013 Invitational Exhibition 

Sedona Area Guild of Artists is showcasing over thirty of the best artists in Sedona in Old Marketplace, 1370 W. SR 89A, as a kick-off fundraiser for the Sedona Art Museum.  Open daily at 12:00 pm, this 10-day exhibition is free and open to the public. The April 21 Closing Ceremonies include poets and music by Three Trees from 4:00 - 6:00 pm, plus the Split-the-Pot drawing. April 16: Discover the Best of Arizona at Sound Bites Grill with Roger Naylor  

On Tuesday, April 16 from 6:00 - 7:00 pm, Roger Naylor will be at Sound Bites Grill where he'll talk about discovering the beauty of Arizona, his book, Arizona Kicks on Route 66, and his quest to hike 1,000 miles in 2013. April 18: Film Festival and Sedona 30 present 'Live at SPAC' concert series

The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to partner with the Sedona 30 and the National Performing Artists and Sedona Performing Arts Alliance for the "Live at SPAC" concert series at the Sedona Performing Arts Center. The final live show of the season will be on Thursday, April 18 at 7:00 pm featuring the big voice and big trumpet of Greg Bonham. April 18: Fit Kids of Arizona opens expanded clinic in Cottonwood

Verde Valley Medical Center and its childhood wellness program, Fit Kids of Arizona, are opening a new larger facility in Cottonwood. The community is invited to the grand opening ceremony at the new location, 637 N. Main St in the Riverfront Commons Building, at 3:30 pm, Thursday, April 18. April 20: Dancing in the Moonlight Benefits Verde Valley Sanctuary  

The Verde Valley Sanctuary, a shelter for victims of family violence, will host its largest fundraiser of the year, Dancing in the Moonlight, on Saturday, April 20 at 5:00 pm. The event takes place at Sky Ranch Lodge on Airport Mesa and includes drinks, dinner, an auction and dancing to the Latin rhythms of Cuban-American singer Mercy. Tickets are $100. April 20: Music at the Museum 

The Sedona Heritage Museum presents "Music at the Museum", 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 20 with 'Cactus Cats', northern Arizona's premiere country duo. The Cactus Cats are back at one of their favorite venues, the Sedona Heritage Museum, with new songs, sing-a-longs, terrible jokes and good family fun. Plus, a special audience participation surprise during this 1-hour performance. This free concert is located on 735 Jordan Road. Call (928) 282-7038. 
 
April 23: Workshop- Successful Marketing 101

May 3: "Trusting Transitions" workshop 

On Friday, May 3 from 1:00 - 4:00 pm Trusting Transitions with author Rev. Maria Dancing Heart Hoaglund will assist individuals to examine their perspectives on death and grief. The workshop will explore how to weave life and death back together again and the ways that death can teach you about life, and how to learn and grow from these opportunities. May 4: Rotary's Great Sedona Chili Cook-Off!
Chefs throughout the Verde Valley are finalizing chili recipes for the third annual Great Sedona Chili Cook-Off, a featured event of Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village Cinco de Mayo Fiesta, 11:00 am - 4:00 pm, Saturday, May 4. Admission $10; children under ten are free. Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Sedona, funds raised from the Cook-Off support Rotary projects including Rotary International's "End Polio Now" and "Imagination Library" locally.

 

May 19: Howard Hawk Memorial Golf Tournament  

The Rotary Club of Sedona Red Rocks is hosting the 13th Annual Howard Hawk Memorial Golf Tournament on Sunday, May 19 at the Sedona Golf Resort. This annual outing will support the club's mission of supporting local children's charities.  The cost to participate is $125 per person for greens fees.
