Our Joys & Concerns

The rosebud on the altar is in honor of the birth of William Richard Massey, son of Brian & Alane Massey, and grandson of Susan Folger and Richard & Diane Massey, on October 20, 2013.

  

The altar flowers are given to the Glory of God and in celebration of the marriage of Paige Brooks & Bobby Vercoe on October 26, 2013.

  

The Paschal Candle burns in honor of the lives of Everett Bruner and Fran Wellstead, now living in the Father's House.

  

We extend Christian sympathy to Bo, Kelly, Brick & Thatcher Bruner in the loss of Bo & Kelly's daughter, Everett Bruner; to Jose, Laura, Emily & Caiti Quiza in the loss of Laura's father, Ernest Daniel Mattson; and to Mike, Maddie & Coleman Wellstead in the loss of Mike's wife, Fran Wellstead.

Join us as we hand the keys to our new homeowner and honor Jim Sutton, a long time Habitat and Handy Helper volunteer. The address is1805 Seayes Rd. Austell, GA 30106. All are welcome to attend. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this very important Mt. Bethel mission.

 

Trunk or Treat | Saturday, October 26 | 5:30-7:00pm | Fairfield Parking Lot 

Fun for the whole family! Please bring canned or boxed items for MUST Ministry as your admission. Come in costume and decorate your car.  Bring candy to share for 300-500 children. Ribbons & Holly Craft Show | Saturday, Nov 2 | 9am-5pm | Fellowship Hall

Start your Christmas shopping with 50 hand-crafted vendors. All proceeds go toward Mt. Bethel mission partners, both home and abroad. Come to shop, to bid on special silent auction gift baskets, and to enjoy treats from the bake sale. Presented by Friends in Faith PM Circle. If you want to contribute baked items for the sale, please bring them to the Fellowship Hall anytime Friday, November 1, or by 10am on Saturday, November 2.

Backpack Ministry Volunteer Appreciation Dinner | Tuesday, November 12 | 6:30-8:30pm

Our volunteers are invited to dinner and to enjoy our special guests from Fair Oaks Elementary School and some fabulous artwork that the children have made. We encourage our volunteers to bring guests that are interested in getting involved and learning more about this wonderful outreach. This year's annual Carols for Christmas Concert is entitled "Somewhere in My Memory" and will be a light-hearted, family-friendly program that evokes memories of Christmases past that we all hold dear. Youth Basketball Coaches Meeting | October 29 | 6:30pm | CAC

Expect a call shortly after this meeting from a coach with team assignment and time for first practice. 

 

Youth Fall Sports: Final games are this week, with the season ending October 26.  Come to the CAC after your final games for pizza parties and participation awards. Pictures are being handed out this week.

 

Now Registering for Boys High School Basketball

Mt. Bethel's CCL (Christian Community League) is a recreational high school boys basketball league. Play begins in late November and consists of six games and a tournament. Must not be on a Varsity Team. Contact Brian Bergius for more information or come to the CAC to register your team. Register as a team.

 

Fitness

We offer classes in boot camp, barre, Zumba, body sculpting, weights, cardio, yoga, pilates and more. Body Sculpting is on Tuesday and Thursday at 5:00. We have great instructors and lots of fun. Go online for class schedule and prices. We also have available by appointment a personal trainer who can get you started or keep you moving in the right direction. Wednesdays from 9am-12pm in the CAC, Will Graham of "The Unseen Touch" is giving relaxing chair massages for $1 per minute - No limit. Stop by or call 770-971-5280 to schedule your time.

Monthly Support Group Opportunities 

Alzheimer's/Caregiver Support Group | Monday, November 4 |10:30am

Open to family members who are assisting an aging loved one both inside and outside of the home. Free respite care is provided for your loved one while we meet, but must call in advance for care.

 

Parkinson's Disease Support Group | Tuesday, November 5 | 10:30am

You and your caregiver are welcome as we learn how to cope and live with the diagnosis. Helpful tips and resources provide comfort and encouragement.
