Do You Know the Joy of Giving?

Randy God teaches us through His Word that the beginning of responsible stewardship is the tithe. Read Genesis 28:20-22, Leviticus 27:30-34, Malachi 3:10, and Matthew 20:21. There, you will discover the principle of the ten percent - our "offerings" are over and above the tithe. Jesus endorses the tithe but that we should go beyond the tithe. Did you know that 20 of the 30 parables and one verse out of every seven in the four Gospels deals with our attitude toward our money and possessions?

My wife and I have tithed throughout our married life because it is a natural expression of our love and gratitude for God's sacrificial love for us through Jesus Christ. Tithing reminds us to put God and His church first.

Most of the tithers I know tithe before taxes, bills, house payments, etc. We do this because this is where trust comes in! We trust God with our lives . . . why not our resources?!

Think of what God can do through His church when church members are faithful in the joy of giving. God promises each one of us that if we are faithful to Him in our tithes, He will "open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you an overflowing blessing!" (Malachi 3:10). God even invites us to put Him to the test in our giving, promising that we cannot out-give God. Do you believe in God? Do you believe His word can be trusted? If you do, then you must be a tither!

I have never known a single tither who regretted tithing. Because tithing is God's plan, I will offer you a money-back guarantee! If you try tithing and, for whatever reason, after one year, you decide tithing is not for you, the church will return every cent you gave!

My hope and prayer is for you and your family to know and celebrate the joy of giving.

Our Commitment Sunday is November 3.

Randy
