  Celebration Sunday

Have you ever thought about how our families are constantly under attack in today's society? Addiction, divorce, and financial pressure are just a few of the issues many of us face on a daily basis. No one goes through life without experiencing some kind of hurt, disappointment, and sometimes devastation. However, we have hope amidst the brokenness and a church family who cares.

We are blessed to be a part of a church that is willing to SHIFT in order to fight for the families' spiritual wellbeing. No matter what our stage in life, we have a responsibility as a member of our church family, God's family, to encourage, invigorate, and help restore the families in our community.

Next Sunday, September 29, will be Mt. Bethel's fifth Family Celebration Sunday. What a perfect time to celebrate our victories! Let's celebrate our focus on parents discipling children by participating in events like parent/child mission trips, Family VBS, and the Third Grade Bible event. Let's celebrate events like our Seder meal that mix young and older generations and help renew our appreciation for each other. Let's celebrate worship services that encourage the whole family to sit together. Let's celebrate the intergenerational relationships that have formed on mission trips, in Sunday school classes, in Life Groups, on retreats, and in young adult discipleship. All of this affirms our commitment to shifting our families away from the world's standards towards becoming families who honor God in all that we do.

Join us next Sunday for a very special service and celebration of how God is moving in our families, in our congregation, and in our community.
