Holy Week at Mt. Bethel
Revival with Dr. Walter Kimbrough, Sunday-Tuesday, March 24-26 -
6:30pm Sanctuary. Join us for a spiritual "awakening" featuring Dr. Walter Kimbrough, a leader for over 40 years in evangelism, pastoral care, teaching, preaching and community service. Impactful messages and powerful music will help create a spiritual renewal needed in the world. Dinner will be available to purchase in the Fellowship Hall on Monday & Tuesday evenings beginning at 4:30pm. Nursery (5 and under) is available.
 
Maundy Thursday Communion Service, March 28 - 7:00pm Sanctuary.
Maundy Thursday commemorates the Last Supper that Jesus shared with the disciples. Nursery (5 and under) is available.

Good Friday Student Service, March 29 - 12:00pm in the Sanctuary.
Student Ministry will lead this worship service which is open to all middle school & high school students wanting to hear and learn more about their faith. Pizza and drinks will be served in the Fellowship Hall following the service. This is an excused absence from school.  

Tenebrae Service, Friday, March 29 - 7:00pm Sanctuary.
The Service of Tenebrae, which means darkness or shadows, is a Holy Week devotion which dates back to the 7th or 8th century A.D. and is characterized by successive extinguishing of candles. The service, which is composed primarily of Bible readings about the last hours of Jesus' life, dramatizes Jesus' passion and death. Nursery (5 and under) is available.

Easter Egg Hunt and Petting Zoo, Saturday, March 30 9:00-10:30am
on the "Fields of Dreams" -  You'll want to bring an Easter basket, camera and friends to the egg hunt what will include an Easter Bunny, petting zoo and sand art! Please donate one dozen empty plastic eggs & one bag of pre-wrapped candy for each child participating - collection spot is the Easter basket across from the Bookstore or the Children's Ministry offices.

Our Joys & Concerns

The altar flowers are given to the Glory of God and in honor of Paige Brooks' March 31st birthday.

The Paschal Candle burns in honor of the lives of Tom Atkins and John Hutto, now living in the Father's House.

Recently hospitalized: Caroline Coppedge, Ray Martin.

We extend Christian sympathy to Leila Atkins, Tim, Ammie, Patrick & Libby McGinley  in the loss of Leila's husband, Tom Atkins; to Mike, Judy & Kathryn Cook in the loss of Mike's father, John Cook; and to Grace Ann Hutto in the loss of her husband, John Hutto. May God hold you in the palm of His hand during this time of grief.

Great Day of Service, Saturday, March 23, from 9:00am-1:00pm. Register online. We  will send teams to nonprofit day cares, nursing homes, homeless shelters & numerous other deserving organizations in our community. Additionally, teams will assist with yard work and chores at senior members' homes, supervise children's mission projects, and help with the lawn care and maintenance on our own church campus.

 

Palm Sunday, March 24

9:30 Children 4K-5th grade attending Sunday School and Catechesis will process in the Sanctuary waving palm branches. Please bring all children to their class to check in first. Teachers will walk with their class through the Sanctuary.  We will line up at 9:15 and be at the Sanctuary doors at 9:25. Children will return to their classes with the teachers after processing.

11:00 Children in Kid Quest and Catechesis will come with their teachers and adult volunteers to wave palm branches. If other children want to participate, parents can meet us at the steps outside the Sanctuary for palm branches and walk with us into the Sanctuary.

9:30-12:00 Jerusalem Market: Some of the children will be participating in the Jerusalem Market in the connector during their Sunday school hour.  It is opened to everyone so please take time to enjoy the market.

Volunteers needed!! One of the beautiful moments in our church is fast approaching and we need your help. We will be preparing the church for our Easter celebration on Saturday, March 30

, starting at 10:00am in B116 & B118. We will be assembling the beautiful flower cross as  well as placement of flowers in the Sanctuary. Celebrating Our Faith - April 4 (7-9pm) is the next Catherine Hickem ladies' event! She has spoken to us about Faith and Trust. Her next topic is HOPE... Catherine will share with us how to find hope when things seem hopeless. And what better subject is there to speak on just four days after Easter, the most holy day when Christ rose from the dead to give us all hope for eternal life with Him? Come fellowship with friends over fresh fruit, desserts and beverages, and hear a message that will renew your spirit. Tickets can be purchased online or at the Bookstore. Tickets are $15. Monthly Support Group Opportunities

Alzheimer's/Caregiver Support Group Meeting: Monday, 4/1 at 10:30am. Open to family members who are assisting an aging loved one both inside and outside of the home. Free respite care is provided for your loved one while we meet, but must call in advance to 678-439-1177.

 

Parkinson's Disease Support Group: Tuesday, 4/2 at 10:30am. You and your caregiver are welcome as we share coping strategies and helpful tips and resources. Program held at Aloha To Aging, Inc, 4608 Lower Roswell Rd, Marietta, GA 30068.

 

Volunteer Opportunities

Aloha Day Club:  Mondays & Wednesdays  10:30am - 2:00pm. Our dedicated staff (professional & volunteer) provide a stimulating, social and therapeutic program for seniors 55+.
