Randy                    New Year - New You
Many people make resolutions this time of year. Resolutions are made for many reasons. No doubt, the chief reason is to improve or enhance one's own living, or perhaps the life of a loved one. Every year, many of us make the resolutions: "get into shape," "practice more patience," "lighten up and smell the roses," etc., etc. Usually, after a few weeks (or days, depending on the resolution), we revert back to old routines, thus, our lives do not become enhanced or improved.

I believe one of the most important principles of successful living is to rely more upon God and less on self - - just the opposite of some of the so-called "self help" books. Consider, for example, the notion that one principle in successful living is to turn to God in every aspect of our living. Perhaps, the principle becomes reality once we realize the truth that God, unlike the world and many people, never uses us, nor abuses us, and He never, never rejects us. He loves us! I truly believe that the "abundant life" begins with our understanding of the Grace of God. What should be our understanding of God's grace?  . . .
    to succeed without ability, and create without talent;
    to be confident in doubt and secure in turmoil;
    to have hope in sorrow and peace in battle;
    to believe when doubtful and trust when suspicious;
    to walk straight on a crooked path and firmly on shifting sands.

We will be discussing His grace throughout our new series, "New Year, New You." May this New Year witness a New You without worry, fear of confusion.
                        Happy New You!
                        Randy
