Mt. Bethel UMC

November 18, 2012

Randy

I'm Thankful
For the love of my life, her beautiful green eyes, and for the way she "let me" catch her 40 years ago!
For four outstanding and handsome grandsons!
For Rob & Ashley, Susie and Lee and the joy of being family.
    For Nancy Droege's cookies!
For Miss Dorothy's happiness in her new residence.
For the 347 special people who joined our church last year and for the 9,266 loving members who make Mt. Bethel the church it is.
For the staff that tries to make me look good (often a challenge!).
For Steve Spurrier and the Gamecocks . . .  yes, I lost a bet!
For cool evenings, fires in the fireplace (even gas logs!), crisp mornings and hot coffee.
For the memory of great parents and their words of encouragement.
For caring physicians, dedicated nurses and a recuperating aunt.
For those who triumph over the tragedies of life.
For those who can read ballots.
    For elections, not coups.
For those very special people who say, "He's my pastor and friend."
For crowded Sanctuaries, filled choir lofts and packed Sunday School classes and 400-plus life groups.
For the most wonderful church staff who give meaning to the word "TEAMWORK."
For the new deck-table and great friend who made it!
For the Chancel Choir, Celebration Choir, Youth Choir, Children's Choirs, ensembles, orchestras, and their heavenly music.
For a loving God, who is not always "predictable" but always "dependable."
For a Bible verse that always sustains me, "In everything God works for good with those who love Him and are called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28)
    For you!
                Happy Thanksgiving,

                Randy

Operation Christmas Child - Last year 8.1 million children experienced hope through the power of a simple gift - your gift of a shoe box. You can make a difference this year by filling a box, wrapping it in prayer, and bringing it to the altar for dedication on Sunday, November 18. Flyers with packing information can be found throughout the church and at the table in the connector. You can even print your own packing label through the  Samaritan's Purse website, www.samaritanspurse.org. These shoe boxes open doors for presenting the Good News of Jesus Christ through the distribution of Gospel booklets and follow-up discipleship programs. Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan's Purse, the Christian relief and evangelism ministry led by Franklin Graham.
