New to Northwest Arkansas Emerging Leaders or just want a refresher on ways to get involved?  Plan to attend the Member Orientation and Mixer  on October 14.  Enjoy food and drinks in a casual, social environment while learning about NWAEL's structure, events and opportunities to get involved with teams and projects.

 

If you have not attended a NWAEL event or participated with the various teams this event is a perfect way to meet fellow members, expand your network and find out how to become more engaged in the organization and your community.

SUSTAINABILITY TEAM SEEKING VOLUNTEERS FOR BOYS & GIRLS CLUB GOLF TOURNAMENT  
       
  
For several years the NWA Emerging Leaders Sustainability Team has partnered with the Boys and Girls Club of Benton County to make their annual golf tournament fundraiser a near zero waste event. This year's event is scheduled for Friday, October 23 and WE NEED YOU! Interact with participants while aiding them in recycling on the golf course. Volunteers are needed all throughout the day at Kingswood and Berksdale golf courses in Bella Vista. To check out the shifts and register to volunteer, simply click here and fill out the form.

The CEO of the NWA Council, Mike Malone, will join Emerging Leaders in a roundtable discussion to generate ideas for 'what's next' for Northwest Arkansas and what role young professionals play in that. What do YOU think we can improve in our home region over the next 3 years? Join us to learn more about the history of Northwest Arkansas, make your voice heard and help shape the region's priorities moving forward.

FAMILY FUN CHILI COOK-OFF AND COMBINE TO BENEFIT THE ROGERS ACTIVITY CENTER  
 

November 7, 2015
11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Downtown Rogers - 1st Street parking lot north of Frisco Stage
$25 for Cook-Off Teams
$5 for tasting kits; 13 and under FREE
 
Chili Cook-Off and Tasting
Think you have the best chili in NW Arkansas? Well come on out to Downtown Rogers Saturday, November 7th and bring your A game! Prizes will be awarded for the People's Top Choice and the Judge's Panel supreme consensus. Click here for official contest rules. The event will run from 11am - 2pm with prizes being awarded at the end. Participant entry costs $25 and the Chili Enthusiast sampling kit costs $5.

Kids NFL-type Combine
That's right, we will have a simulated NFL scouting combine! Bring the little ones as they compete in the 20yd Dash, Pro Agility, Receiver Drills & more! The Rogers Heritage Football Team will be on hand to help run the combine. Boys and Girls 13 and under will be allowed to participate in their bracket with prizes awarded at the end of the chili competition. Entry is free however a $5 donation to the RAC is encouraged.

Special thanks to the NWAEL FUN Team planners Ryan Veit and Sonny Brainard for putting this family friendly event together.  All funds to benefit the Rogers Activity Center.

The mission of the Political and Government Affairs team is to inform and engage members in government and politics.

 

Are you interested in running for public office or know someone who is? Attend Ready to Run: A Political Candidate Training Series. This series is FREE to attend and designed to answer all of your burning questions in a relaxed, interactive atmosphere.

SUSTAINABILITY  

 

 The Sustainability Team continually brainstorms and seeks ways to make NWA a greener, more efficient environment.  The Sustainability Team continues to form strategic partners and provide support to community functions to reduce the amount of waste.  Additionally, the team has been exploring various other environmental efficiencies and how to share those with the community at large.

 

Currently seeking volunteers to help with sustainability efforts on Friday, October 23; shifts available throughout the day. Click here to see how you can Make an Impact!

Community Enrichment serves to connect members with volunteer opportunities, existing leaders and be an incubator for new project ideas.  This mission produces a wide-range of projects that members are currently working on.  If you have an interest in any of them or have an idea of your own that doesn't fit with any of the other teams then Community Enrichment is the place to test your idea.
