READY TO RUN | POLITICAL CANDIDATE TRAINING SERIES

presented by
Mitchell Williams PLLC

The Northwest Arkansas Emerging Leaders' Political and Government Affairs Team is hosting a free monthly breakfast series, presented by Mitchell Williams, designed to answer all of your questions about running for political office.  Whether you want to serve on a school board, the state legislature or in Congress, these casual monthly breakfasts will bring experts and veteran politicians together to discuss the finer points of running for office and provide advice and guidance on how to run a successful campaign.

June 24, 2015 - Running 101 will lay out the basics of what it takes to run for any elected office and inspire you to take the next step.

July 22, 2015 - In the Finance and Ethics session we will discuss fundraising and demystify the regulations and reporting requirements for candidates and elected officials.

August 26, 2015 - The Media and Marketing session will help you learn to manage the media and control your campaign's message.

September 23, 2015 - Ready to Run takes all the knowledge we've gained over the series and puts it together with a Charge to Serve! Let our speaker inspire you and answer any lingering questions you may have about running for public office. After this session, you'll be prepared to get out and ask for the vote!

*Attendance at all sessions is not required but encouraged.

NWA EMERGING LEADERS | IMPACT

Sustainability Team Improves Recycling Efforts on Bentonville Square

Special thanks and kuddos to the 25+ volunteers who came out to assist with recycling at the May First Friday event on the Bentonville square. Volunteers sorted event garbage on the spot and spread the word about the importance of recycling with festival goers. Four large bags of compost and a trailer full of recyclables were collected and diverted from the landfill.  Way to MAKE AN IMPACT!

Member Profile

Name: Diego Garcia
Employer: Crafton Tull
Length of Time in NWA: 13 years
How long have you been in NWAEL: about one year

How has being part of Emerging Leaders helped you connect with NWA?:  NWAEL has given me the opportunity to give back to the community that I grew up in. The Greenway and Trails team has done that by providing access to bikes to be used on the trails and I'm glad I'm taking part in that. In addition, getting to know other professionals through the many networking opportunities that are provided through NWAEL has become part of my personal and professional development. Also, I like taking part in the volunteering opportunities that are set up through emerging leaders whether it is reading to children or other volunteer activities. It's great being part of an organization that is willing to give back to the community.

Has NWAEL helped you Make An Impact in some way?  Email Whitney Yoder to share your story and be featured in a newsletter!
