Customer Satisfaction Survey Results

The results are in! More than 1,600 customers participated in the Library's annual Customer Satisfaction Survey, and
96% agreed or strongly agreed to statements about customer satisfaction. Thank you to those of you who participated and provided your valuable feedback. Library leadership will be reviewing comments later this month, and identifying action items to further improve customer service.

Respondents also gave the Library a Net Promoter Score of 82. A Net Promoter Score is based on responses to the question: "How likely is it that you would recommend our company/product/service to a friend or colleague?" Again, the Library will use this feedback to design an experience that will encourage customers to return and bring a friend.

Thank you!

Celebrate Family History Month

Whether you are new to genealogy, or have devoted a lifetime to it, celebrate Family History Month with your family this October by trying one of these wonderful ways to craft and commemorate your past.

  • Get started tracing your family tree. If you have been curious about your family tree but just aren't sure where to start, your public library can help. Our genealogy experts in the Robinson-Spangler Carolina Room at Main Library have expertise and tools to help you get started. You can call them at 704.416.0150 or sign up for one of our upcoming free genealogy workshops happening in various library branches. Learn more.
  • Record family stories. Each family has its own history, and you can help ensure that your family stories will be preserved for future generations. Don't know how to start? We're offering a workshop on October 15 at our Steele Creek branch in which you can learn the basics of conducting family history interviews. Learn More.
  • Experience the joy of another family's discovery. Experience one Charlotte family's attempt to trace their roots on an all new edition of "Carolina Impact" on local PBS station WTVI, October 7. Our own Carolina Room will be included in the episode. Learn more.
  • Go further in your search. The State Library of North Carolina has a long tradition of service to researchers who have undertaken the challenging and rewarding mission to trace their families' roots. Visit their web site to find a wealth of resources.

Watch the Skies! The Movie: The Time Machine
