CHILDREN WHO READ, SUCCEED.
This is why Summer Reading is important.
The Charlotte Mecklenburg Library encourages reading during the summer because reading has been proven to help curb summer "learning loss" so that children and teens can return to school in the fall ready to pick up where they left off academically. This is a key component in the Library's year-long support of educational success in Mecklenburg County. Summer Reading is also an opportunity for preschoolers to gain early literacy skills and for adults to read and inspire young people to read.

Thank you to the 2014 Summer Reading sponsors, who support the Library in these efforts.
