Thanks for a successful 4th annual Rock & Read!
Thanks to everyone who came out for the Friends of the Library's Rock & Read 5K Run/Walk on September 14, 2013. With your support, the Friends raised more than $13,000 to purchase new library books and materials for our community to enjoy. Friends Pop-up Book Sale: Nov 2, 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at South County Regional Library
You've enjoyed the Friends of the Library's week-long Big Benefit Book Sale each year. Now join us for short, pop-up book sales throughout the county. The first sale will be held in the parking lot of the South County Regional library branch. Find great deals on books and other materials. Book sale proceeds benefit the Library.

Teen Read Week 2013
Teen Read Week, October 13-19.
Teen Read Week is a national literacy initiative held each year during the third week of October. At Charlotte Mecklenburg Library, we offer top-notch access to literacy programs and services year-round, but Teen Read Week is your chance to sample all of our literacy programs for teens compacted into just one short week. 
Affordable Care Act - Health Reform Information
With implementation of the Affordable Care Act underway, many people have questions about how the changes will impact them. Join the Library for discussions of what's in the law, how it's being implemented in NC and how you may be affected. Learn more. 
"Serving and Leading Our Nation with Pride and Honor" is this year's theme. Join us for special programming all month to honor and celebrate the Hispanic culture. Learn more.
Let us Die Like Brave Men Meet the Author: Daniel W. Barefoot
Meet Daniel W. Barefoot, NC author and historian, former attorney and legislator, and magician. His presentation will include readings from his latest book Let Us Die Like Brave Men.

 

 

Operation College Launch continues...

Want to go to college, but not sure how? Our free Operation College Launch workshops can help.

All workshops are designed to provide teens (and parents) with the information they need about their future beyond high school. Workshops are held at various libraries from September through April.
