October 9, Lines in the Dust, produced by Luna Stage, examines how NJ public school districtng has affected the dream promised by Brown v. Board of Education. While the play is fiction, the story references Newark and its suburbs. 

 

October 12, Midtown Direct Rep reading of Chisa Hutchinson's The Subject, a new play about race, privilege and ambition with audience participation in shaping the script. 

 

November, The Strollers Theater Company of Maplewood staging of Clybourne Park, a play that "applies a modern twist to the issues of race and housing and aspirations for a better life." - Washington Post
