Message from the Executive Director, Nancy Gagnier

Our trustees and supporters were out and about in our towns this spring literally carrying the banner with our mission statement. You may have seen us - at Celebrate South Orange, Mayfest, Greenday, and the Memorial Day Parade - talking to people about intentional integration and how we work for it throughout the year. Whether it was through conversation, the arts, or Coalition committee work, the spring was full of opportunities to be engaged in thought and work on building an inclusive community. And there's more to come! We keep hearing that people want more social integration occasions. If that describes you, then don't miss Guess Who's Coming....Read on for details! |

Barbara Heisler, Executive Director of the Funding Exchange and intentional integration expert, and Dr. Khalil Gibran Muhammad, Director of the Schomburg Center, initiated this community conversation with some very thought-provoking ideas about race relations in a diverse community. Through the Lens of Integration
Through the Lens of Integration featured four free photography workshops that were taught by professional photographers, Joy Yagid and Mansa Mussa. Our goal was to use photography to connect local residents who want to learn more about this art form and to use their new skills to capture their vision of integration. See some of their final pieces here.
