Message from the Executive Director, Nancy GagnierWe are often asked how
we work on integration in our community.
This fall is all about community service along with bringing people of
different races and backgrounds together.
Our Integration through the Arts
programming is in full swing with the Two Towns Dance-ins and Sing-ins and we
are holding our annual Celebrating
Integration dinner; we are out and about welcoming new residents to the
towns, distributing the Schools Committee's new Top Ten Tips brochure for
parents of middle schoolers, planning our Annual Preschool Open House, and all
our committees will be on hand at our annual Report to the Community.
Over the summer, we launched our newest tool in intentional
integration-our new website. The website
has a dual purpose: to sell the community to prospective homebuyers by
showcasing all that we have to offer, including our commitment to integration,
and to be a source of information for residents on all things related to our
mission to be a thriving, inclusive community.
Our new ad campaign targets people who 'shop' on-line for places to live
and takes them right to the Two Towns section. Take a look and send us your pictures to help us showcase our towns.

Summer Event Helped Raise Funds Stump the Curator was a Success
During the dog days of summer this past August, Coalition
Trustee and Newark Museum Curator, Ulysses Dietz hosted a house party where he
volunteered to identify and describe collectibles and yard sale finds brought
in by guests. It was a fun and
informative afternoon. Mr. Dietz looked
over silver urns, lamps, candelabras, jewelry, dishes, crystal and even an old
sword! He masterfully described the
provenance of these cherished items, some of them proudly identified by the
owners as bulk trash items rescued to see better days.
