Quilt Sampler 2012

We have autographed copies of the Spring/Summer 2012 Quilt Sampler magazine featuring 11 shops across the United States and Canada including Quilted Strait.
Save the Date!

Gwen Marston
will be teaching Liberated Log Cabins, Liberated Baskets and a Small Studies Workshop in April 2014.

The pattern isn't quite ready - but so many people asked, that Barb Schultz of Enchanted Valley Arts is going to do a quick - "before Halloween" class for her Toad Wall Hanging. Details below. Her stabilizer machine applique is a great technique, quick, easy and no stiff fusible web to deal with!

We continue to add to the 2013 class schedule - note the dates are now posted for the Winter 2013 Sampler classes - and we have more fun treats to come still!

Be sure to look at the little section on sewing machines - especially the last two machines. Wow! Incredibly beautiful and really innovative.

We are in the process of website transition - so for the moment do not have any new fabric groups up on the website, but will have lots for our online shoppers to look at in the next few weeks as they all will burst out at once on the new website!

piecefully,
Kris

Ink Workshop - The Crayon Thing
Instructor: Barb Schultz
Class Fee: $45.00
One Session Class: Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, 11am to 4 pm

There are a variety of patterns and embellishment techniques that use crayons for color. Crayons provide a soft color that is especially effective in quilts with hand embroidery - in fact one of our favorite hand embroidery pattern designers Crabapple Hill uses crayons a lot. However crayons on cotton fabric have a couple of drawbacks - they are really more permanent on a cotton/poly blend fabric (we quilters don't tend to have much of that around !), you only get one kind of a tip to work with, and it can be difficult to get the shading to come out just the way you want. Never fear!  Barb has come up with a way to use the Fabrico Markers by Tsukineko instead of crayons  more...
