Avery Nguyen

Who are you?
I'm Avery and my pronouns are they/them/theirs.
Hi there! I am a 4th year  Psychology and Fem studies major, hailing from San Francisco. I identify as a queer, non binary Asian- American and love connecting with other queer and trans Asian people. Also, I am slowly trying to start a QTAPI group.

What are your interests/hobbies?

I am currently obsessed with Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp a Butterfly.

What does the Cantu mean to you?
To me, the Cant is where I can cool down my glutes after climbing the Merrill hill. Also, it is a great place for tea, a single stall bathroom, and meeting up with cool queer student leaders who inspire and recharge me :)

What has the Cant done for you?

Spring is here . . . and it's oh so queer! We are gearing up for welcoming our alumni back to the campus and center this Saturday. We've held our Lavender Reception for 17 years now and it's always so exciting to see who will walk through the door to tell their post-graduation stories. There will be lots of reminiscing and plenty of animated conversations between current and former students. Alumna artist Rubi Shandar will be present to talk about her self-portrait show in our GALA Gallery. We welcome all of you to join us this Saturday, 3-5 pm, at the Cant. We will offer a delectable spread of appetizers and plenty of bubbly.
