Who are you?

My name is Karren. My pronouns are she/her. I'm a sophomore affiliated with Merrill and my major is Literature.

What are your interests/hobbies?

Reading and writing. I also like watching movies, especially old, plot-intensive movies.

What does the Cantu mean to you?
The Cantu helped me discover myself. It's the place where I feel most comfortable studying (besides my room).

We are all ears, seeking your piercingly honest, constructive anonymous feedback, answering your probing questions, and soaking up your ringing praise about all things queer at UCSC at the Cantu.

Give your feedback

Want to give your feedback and share your ideas in person? Director Deb is ALWAYS open to meeting with you. Her motto: "Don't talk about me. Talk to me." Email her here

Or drop by

Deb's new talk space:

D x 3 =
Director Deb Drop-In
Thursdays, 12-2.
At the Cantu, naturally.

The Two Mujeres
by Sarah Levi Calderon

Valeria is part of a well-to-do Jewish family in Mexico City. She is married and has two sons. Intelligent and sensitive, she realizes that the traditional conventions of her culture have made her unable to be a whole person. Then she falls passionately in love with a woman and, against tremendous family pressure, finds the courage to leave her conventional life to become the writer she has wanted to be.

Check it out at the Cantu!
