QuEARy, our new QConnect feature, has already yielded valuable feedback. We THANK those who took time to voice to their thoughts.

One right-on piece of feedback was about a Queer Quote a few weeks back where the speaker compared being black with being gay. It's one thing when a black and gay person compares the challenges of their identities (as Wanda Sykes does so well in her "'I'ma Be Me" show). It's another thing entirely when a person who does not possess those identities does so. We regret our haste in publishing this quote and apologize for its offensiveness.

"That's one of the things that "queer" can refer to: the open mesh of possibilities, gaps, overlaps, dissonances and resonances, lapses and excesses of meaning when the constituent elements of anyone's gender, of anyone's sexuality aren't made (or can't be made) to signify monolithically."

November 3rd-6th ~ Out and Equal Workplace Summit, SF.
