This year's QPOC Conference is happening on
May 2nd and 3rd. The Queer People of Color Conference is a space that focuses on raising critical issues that pertain to the intersectionalities of queer folks of color: whether it be about race, class, gender, sexuality, etc. QPOCC strives to foster leadership and critical awareness of our social positions as students. The conference is also open for allies--or folks who do not self identify under the LGBTQ spectrum, of color, or both.  We are looking for students from all intersectional backgrounds, and the deadline for this application is 5pm on Sunday, 13th of April.
Application here.  Fb event page here.

What Has The Cant
Done For You?
Chris LeBailly
Who are you?
My name is Chris LeBailly and I recently finished my master's in mathematics at UCSC.  I enjoy the great outdoors in many forms, from swimming to hiking to star gazing to beach volleyball.  While I'm job hunting and taking some on-line classes I'm looking forward to volunteering at the Cant and helping students with math.

What does the Cant mean to you?
The Cant means community to me.  From the moment I walked into the center as a prospective student, I knew this space was special.  The center has helped form community amongst queer graduate students through their monthly lunches and pub nights. I'm looking forward to giving back to this community by volunteering.

There are queer events galore coming up through out the spring, so DO come out and get involved. The Cantu has been collaborating closely with the good folks at SHOP and CAPS to make sure your queer sex and relationships are healthy, safe and fun! What's APP-ening is happening next week and will explore the wild world of queer hook-up & meet-up apps and sites.

Students are preparing to attend the Out & Greek, QPOC, and BlaqOUT conferences . . . there is still room to join these contingents, but not much. (Details below.)
