What Has the Cant Done for YOU?
|
Cintia Graciela Flores
Who are you?
My name is Cintia Graciela Flores. I am multiple things at the same time. To be specific, I am a queer masculine of center Latina and a first generation college student. I am also an older sister, a friend, a volunteer, an artist, aspiring naturalist, and aspiring activist!
What has the Cant done for you?
The Cant has done so much for me in an emotional and internal way. As a freshmen I was not comfortable being me and expressing my masculine energy while still feeling feminine, and let's not even mention being a Latina. The Cant provided me with proud colorful people who accept everyone for who they strive to be. This will be my second year in the space and I now hold a core seat for Familia X. I have gained not only internal confidence and peace, but also a growing network of awesome activist, artists, students, and friends.

Director Deb is back from a restorative birthday vacation. Lots of catching up to do! Lots of stories about how wonderful the QPOC Mixer was, as well as the Queer Sex 101 extravaganza. Kudos to all of the student and staff organizers who made these 2 events so successful! So sorry I had to miss all of the fun.
If you've been waiting to meet with Deb, feel free to send me an email to schedule a time: dabbott@ucsc.edu
