Who are you?

I am a transman and a recent UCSC graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Art. I am planning on attending medical school in the future to become an Endocrinologist.

As a Transman, what advice would you give for students starting the transition process?

As a transman, I would say don't let your identity hold you back from doing anything and take advantage of the resources on campus. The registrar's office also has forms to fill out for a change of name, which is helpful for obtaining a school ID with your preferred name on it and can save you from some awkward moments.

What Has the Cant Done for YOU?

Welcome back to returning students! Welcome to your "homo away from home" to new students! We spent the weekend getting ready to greet you and hope you stop by soon! We have a terrific student staff at the Cantu who are eager to help you find your way around campus, learn about queer (and other) resources. So, if you need "orienting", come to the center where "orientation" is our speciality!

One way YOU can help fellow students, staff, faculty, and alumni stay CONNECTED to queer events on campus and in the community is to ask them if they're subscribed to QConnect. If not, direct them to our website   queer.ucsc.edu. The SUBSCRIBE button is on our homepage.
